Liverpool Slap 120M Tag On 33-Year-Old Salah — And Nobody's Biting

Liverpool Slap 120M Tag On 33-Year-Old Salah — And Nobody's Biting

120 million SVC. For a 33-year-old. With nee bids on the board.

Liverpool have stuck a price tag on Mohamed Salah Hamed that stops you mid-scroll. The Egyptian — rating 99, the joint-best forward you'll find anywhere — has been listed on the transfer market with a minimum bid of 120.0M SVC. That's the asking price, mind, not a bid. Auction ID 51631 hasn't even started. High bid: none. Not a single club's blinked.

And here's the number that does the talking. Salah's market value sits at 43.0M SVC. The asking price is 2.79 times that. Liverpool aren't selling Salah — they're daring somebody to overpay for him.

The steepest tag on the board

I checked the live auction board, and nothing else comes close. Salah's 120M tops the lot. The next-dearest asking prices are Auxerre's Clément Akpa (24, rating 90) at 110.0M and Bergamo's Berat Djimsiti at 80.0M. After that it drops off a cliff. No one in the game is asking more for a player right now than the Reds are asking for Salah.

But "biggest asking price" and "biggest deal" are two very different things, pet — and I went to the archive to prove it. Plenty of fees have flown past 120M when a deal actually *closed*. The all-time record is Florian Wirtz, who went from Leverkusen to Dortmund for a frankly silly 225.0M SVC back in July 2025. Bayern paid 176.0M in January, Salzburg 173.0M, and Barcelona handed over 150.0M for Viktor Gyökeres. So 120M isn't unheard of — it's just unheard of for a player who turns 34 next summer.

Why the silence?

The numbers explain the standoff. Salah is 33, on two years of contract, and earning 510,420 SVC in wages — canny money to take on. His form line reads 656666 and his morale is "Happy" after shaking off an injury he recovered from 68 days ago. He's a genuine FR/AMR with a 99 shooting rating — proper elite. But at that price, for that age, every manager on the board is doing the same sum I am and arriving at the same answer: not yet.

It doesn't help that a buyer would need deep pockets and a clear-out plan. Even Liverpool themselves are sat on a balance of just 17.0M SVC — a fraction of the 120M they're asking — so this is a "make me an offer I can't refuse" listing, not a fire sale. The club is third in ENG Division 1 under Biarritz, form WLLWWW, with a squad valued north of 480M. They don't *need* to move him.

What to watch

This one's simple. The auction hasn't started, so there's no clock ticking yet — and until somebody lodges that first bid, the 120M is just a statement of intent hanging in the window. Salah's never been sold in his Soccerverse career; his transfer history is a blank page. Whether that page stays blank depends on one brave manager deciding a 99-rated icon is worth nearly three times his sheet value.

From what I'm hearing, nobody's that brave. Yet. But the moment a bid lands on 51631, you'll hear it here first.
