Barcelona have taken a 40M SVC axe to Andreas Bødtker Christensen’s price tag. The reduced number still sits among the market’s dearest listings, untouched.

Here’s the ledger before anybody hollers: 110M SVC is the asking price, not a bid. The live auction has no high bid, an empty bid list, no end time and an unstarted status. Any opening move must be at least 110M.

Forty million gone

Archival records first show Barcelona listing Christensen for 150M SVC on July 4. The current auction was recorded on August 18 at 110M — a 40M cut, or 26.7%, after 45 days.

The bid archive returns zero rows for Christensen across both recorded listings. At our latest check, the current ticket had been live for roughly 50 hours without a nibble.

Only seven of the market’s 8,869 listings carry a higher minimum price. One other also asks 110M, making Christensen’s price joint-eighth-highest.

His displayed player value is 15.26M SVC. Barcelona’s ask is therefore 7.2 times that value, or 620.9% above it. A live search for 90-to-92-rated centre-backs finds only three players, all without a high bid. Supply is thin; the money has not followed.

What 110M buys

Christensen is a 30-year-old Danish centre-back who can also cover left-back and central midfield. He brings 91 tackling and 90 passing, while his contract has two seasons remaining on wages of 425,350 SVC.

He is happy, carries no concerns and is not currently injured, although his fitness stands at 72. This season he has played 343 league minutes across five appearances — 48% of Barcelona’s available league time — averaging 7.0 with two clean sheets and one yellow card. His cup appearance produced a goal and a 10.0 rating.

The July clue

Christensen’s original 150M listing preceded Barcelona’s purchase of 94-rated Moussa Niakhaté for 75.56M SVC by just four hours and 47 minutes. The timing suggests a defensive reshuffle, although the data cannot prove Barcelona’s motive.

Ralek17’s side currently lead ESP Division 1, hold 117.7M SVC and carry a top-21 squad rating average of 91. Christensen matches that average, yet his asking price is nearly as large as the club’s entire cash balance.

Until somebody crosses the threshold, the only confirmed movement is Barcelona changing its own sticker. There is no sale, no 110M coming in and no countdown running.
