England’s pressure points

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace — second v fifth, 24 points v 22. Bournemouth are six league games unbeaten and can turn a congested title race in their favour. Palace have used Long Ball in four of their past five fixtures, but Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix are listed injured. Bournemouth, by contrast, have all 26 squad members available.

Manchester Red v London Red — the leading scorers meet a joint-best defence. Manchester Red sit seventh on 20 points but lead the division with 20 goals. Third-placed London Red have conceded only seven.

The home availability list removes Jacob Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martínez and Bruno Borges Fernandes. London Red are without David Raya Martin and Gabriel Martinelli Silva. Recent tactical data shows the visitors using a 4-2-2-2 in four of five fixtures, split evenly between Attacking and Counter styles. Against a patched home defence, their narrow forward structure could be decisive.

The London six-pointer

Tottenham v Brentford — 16th v 17th, separated by one point. Brentford’s 13 points leave them level with 18th-placed Newcastle and outside the bottom three only on goal difference. Tottenham are scarcely safer on 14.

Freiburg v Bayern — the four-way German squeeze. Bayern are level with leaders Frankfurt on 29 points after six consecutive league wins. Dortmund and Hoffenheim are one point behind, so even a draw could cost Bayern several places.

Freiburg sit seventh with 22 points and face an opponent whose past five fixtures contain five different setup-and-style combinations. Bayern’s flexibility is a strength, but it denies them the comfort of one settled rhythm. Frankfurt visit Berlin while Dortmund and Hoffenheim play lower-half opposition; the pressure travels with Bayern.

Genova Red v Napoli — consistency under examination. Napoli lead Italy with 27 points, one ahead of Roma, after six straight league victories. Their recent tactical identity is the clearest of the contenders: Normal style in all five latest fixtures, with a 4-2-3-1 used three times.

Genova Red are 15th on 14 points, but Napoli cannot treat the trip as routine. Roma visit 16th-placed Catanzaro, making any dropped point an invitation. Gameweek 14 is built around that tension: direct rivals collide while the leaders walk into away-day traps.
