Only Soccerverse could turn one Thursday into a referendum on robots, promises and a 17-year-old Mexican winger. General chat managed it before midnight.

The capped 30-day pull delivered 2,000 public messages, concentrated between 13 and 20 August. Of those, 1,641 landed in ⚽︱general-chat. On 20 August, the room produced two distinct infernos: a 17,266,500 SVC transfer grievance in the afternoon, then an 80-message bot war at night.

The receipt, then the grievance

At 08:17:27 UTC, live transfer history recorded Gilberto Rafael Mora Zambrano moving from Toulouse to Paris for 17,266,500 SVC.

Less than six hours later, LeTemile publicly alleged that he had approached Paris manager Janca months earlier, expected further talks and was bypassed when Mora moved. He also claimed an arrangement had been made with Sokker MonKey.

The game record confirms the move and fee. It does not confirm any private promise or side agreement.

What I find particularly shameful is the hypocrisy.

The live player overview adds the stakes: Mora is rated 74, LeTemile is his current agent and holds 250,000 influence in him, while Janca manages Paris. No public reply from Janca was located by the time of the pull; that is not an admission.

Sokker MonKey did answer, accusing LeTemile of demanding standards he had not always shown others.

Maybe if you didn't do to other people what you wouldn't want them to do to you, this game would be a lot more fun and friendly than it is now.

Then Leedsarewe marched in carrying the flamethrower.

Deals break down all the time in the real world. People crying on here because somebody hasn't kept their word is absolutely pathetic imo. Where money is involved, trust no one.

The robots reach the free bench

Automation anxiety was already simmering. The 30-day channel pulse counted eight spike hours, including an 8 August loan-bot and front-running row. Two days later, SoccerRatings refreshes triggered another argument about automated buyers beating human scouts.

On 20 August it properly detonated: 80 messages flew through general chat in roughly 40 minutes.

The biggest problem with bots that nobody talks about is that at the start of every season, they buy all the wonderkids on the free bench, and as the website is down, nobody can even try to bid for them

That was UnAndaluz’s allegation, not verified attribution of any particular purchase. The investigation did not establish who bought a specific player or whether automation completed it.

Leedsarewe nevertheless delivered the night’s bluntest verdict.

The problem with bots is it's cheating. It really is that simple.

SVBase builder Klo treated technical ability as part of the competition and blamed how new players enter the market.

Klo also said he already possessed the two tools UnAndaluz requested: a player-ID max-bid tool and a share buyer. That establishes what Klo said he had—not deployment, misuse or responsibility for any specific trade.

Marius argued bots were allowed. username_hamburgler immediately questioned whether the Soccerverse team had ever officially confirmed that. A targeted search of the public 30-day corpus did not surface a team-authored market-bot policy, so the official position remains unresolved here.

At least sorareportugal brought a fix: stage new players before releasing influence, accept advance buy orders and fill them by price rather than raw speed.

Same wound, different weapon

One row concerned a promise; the other concerned code. Both asked the same question: if the system permits a move, does that settle whether the community should accept it?

Marius supplied the closest thing Discord managed to a full-time whistle.

But all is fair game. My opinion is that being a good actor, trying to be fair and playing with ethics is higher expected value long term. However not everyone will agree and that's fair game 😊

My verdict, lads: code tells you what can be done, not what people will forgive. Publish the bot rules, redesign the speed race and put transfer promises in writing—or keep the popcorn ready.
