Right, pull up a chair — the server's been one big party this fortnight, and for once nobody's swinging at each other in #general. From a Slovak fairytale to a community-built awards show, here's everything the Soccerverse lot have been celebrating.
Lučenec go up, up and UP
Start with the noise that made #match-chatter sing. GreenFuryx dropped five Slovak flags and a line that says it all:
🇸🇰 Celebrations in Lučenec can start! We are going to the top division! Back-to-back-to-back promotion!
Three seasons, three promotions, one club climbing the Slovak pyramid like it owes them money. That's not a hot streak, la — that's a project. From the lower rungs to the top flight on the bounce, GreenFuryx has turned Lučenec into one of the great climbing stories doing the rounds right now. Nice one.
The community built its own award show — the I.A.M
The headliner, though, is properly special because the *community* made it. The Association of Managers Awards (I.A.M) is up and running, and Gevenito has been the man with the megaphone:
We are thrilled to announce that the Association of Managers Awards (I.A.M) is officially in the works! ... join us as we celebrate excellence, outstanding achievements, and the incredible milestones of our soccerverse community members.
This isn't a couple of lads handing out stickers. The judging panel sifted talent across four continents — Asia, Africa, America and Europe — and on Saturday 6 June the Season 3 nominees got revealed live, top 50 finalists across the categories, streamed on Nickx's Twitch:
The wait is almost over! ... we reveal the top 50 finalists across different categories. Our judging panel has reviewed an incredible pool of talent this season across 4 continents.
And the bit I love most: the Fair Play Manager & Agent Award, a four-phase public vote where the community nominates the people who've been politest, most helpful, most trustworthy at the trade table. Open nominations run until Wednesday 15 June — GreenFuryx has been firing out the reminders, so get your picks in. Rewarding the good eggs instead of just the trophy hoarders? Sound idea, that.
Of course, it wouldn't be Soccerverse without a debate
Where there's an awards panel, there's an argument about the awards panel — keep it tidy now. cloudsv_ opened the floor on whether league difficulty should weigh heavier:
Whoever wins the Champions League, should be considered if not the best, one of the best... I think those awards should consider how complicated is one league.
rosvorn pushed straight back: "If you are with the weakest league and become top 5... i think its a better management than being 1st with Barca." No warnings needed — just two managers who clearly care, hashing it out in good faith. That's the room at its best.
From continental kings to world champions
Wind back to the season climax and the biggest prize of the lot. Salama's Dubai completed one of the great underdog runs, beating Roytroy's Leverkusen in the World Club Cup final. The community announcement put it perfectly:
From continental champions to world champions. Dubai, managed by Salama, are World Club Champions after an incredible underdog run and have completed the upset, defeating the favourites!
Favourites toppled, world crown lifted. You couldn't script it, la.
A year of the Series
And tucked in the celebrations, a quiet milestone worth a clap: momentgod dropped Soccerverse Series Episode #25, marking a one-year collaboration alongside a new UI, fresh game updates and a Chaves season review. Twenty-five episodes deep and still going — that's graft, and the community's better for it.
Skez's verdict
Promotions stacked three-high, a homegrown awards show spanning four continents, a world champ crowned from nowhere, and a fair-play vote that rewards being a decent human. The server's full of winners this fortnight — and the best win of all is a community that's busy lifting its own up. Get your Fair Play noms in before the 15th, and keep it tidy out there.
