FOUR BOSSES IN 18 HOURS! THE DUGOUT MERRY-GO-ROUND GOES HAYWIRE

FOUR BOSSES IN 18 HOURS! THE DUGOUT MERRY-GO-ROUND GOES HAYWIRE

Ninety-six seconds. That's how long Kei was manager of Cerro Green, a club in Uruguay's top flight, on Sunday evening. He took Ararat Red at 17:30 UTC, moved to Cerro Green at 17:34, resigned at 17:35 and was in charge at Asunción Virgen del Huerto by 17:42. Three clubs in 12 minutes.

It's been the busiest week in the dugouts for over a month.

The merry-go-round

From 25 to 31 October the chain logged 272 manager appointments. That's up from 161 the week before and the highest weekly count since the week of 20 September. Sunday added 91 more. Counting from 25 October to Sunday night, there were 363 appointments at 309 clubs by 285 different people, plus 50 resignations.

Some of them didn't stay long enough to learn the kit colours:

  • faiz: 14 appointments at 13 clubs in seven days, from Ajman to Niepołomice
  • Romanjsisoq0: 11 appointments at 8 clubs, including three separate spells at Mariupol'
  • Sulaeman96: five clubs in exactly 90 minutes on Saturday
  • mariofernando: three clubs in 37 minutes on Sunday morning

The maddest dugout of the lot is Jerusalem Red, in Israel's top flight. RAMESS took over at 11:29 on Saturday and resigned 65 minutes later. mariofernando arrived after midnight and quit after 13 minutes. Saqsen lasted about half an hour before leaving for Charlotte. Then Bagaskoro took over at 05:33. That's four bosses in 18 hours at a club with 16.86M SVC in the bank.

At Bergen, third in Norway, an account called Julian Nagelsmann resigned on Saturday night and EirikHorneland had the job 15 seconds later. Make of that what you will.

The King is back

Last week's cliffhanger is settled. sowiriro's 16,835 votes sacked KoreaKing last month, but on 29 October he beat JohanCruyff 24,932–16,835 to win the Guiseley job back. JohanCruyff's total exactly matches sowiriro's stake. KoreaKing's matches Snaus's 17,690 plus KoreaKing's own 7,232, with 10 more on top. On Sunday night his unlock vote passed 17,700–0, which is Snaus's stake plus those same 10.

snailbrain holds 11,000 Guiseley influence and didn't vote either time. His Chorley side top the National League, eight points clear of fourth-placed Guiseley. JohanCruyff didn't sulk for long: he took over Ekaterinburg B less than five hours after losing the vote.

Hot seat: Madrid White

The champions are 10th in Spain, 21 points behind Ralek17's Barcelona, with only 18 goals from 24 games. Last season they won the title with 85 points and 69 goals. On Friday, rosvorn started a row about it in #general-chat:

Why is there no change of the manager? Are we playing ego wars again?

— rosvorn

Nickx shot back: "There is no rule when a manage must be substituted" and "It's up to the influencers." Cipi said owners "should support him also when is passing trough a worse period." RodeoRexxx argued the club's finances matter more than the league table:

If you are champions but you ruins the financials state, it's far worst than being 10th

— RodeoRexxx

LilPimiETuk kept it short: "You do bad as a manager, you get fired.." Then puglist_ chipped in with "Arne slot get sacked for slightly worse performance". As a Red, I'm pretending I didn't see that.

The facts: Gevenito has run Madrid White since 9 January 2025, winning 126 of 213 games, and has never faced a vote. SoccerTitan owns 220,000 of the club's 253,874 influence, which is 86.7%, so one ballot from him would decide it. There's no vote open.

Hot seat: Stavanger

The angriest part of that thread was about Stavanger. They have the third-best squad in Norway on average rating, 12,849 fans and 33.7M SVC in the bank. They're bottom of Division 1 with 12 points: two wins, six draws and 16 defeats.

How can you have 60k Influence in a team which plays in the UCL almost every season and you let someone manage them and go on 16 losing streak or whatever it was and being rock bottom.

— LilPimiETuk

His 60k figure is about right. Goldsmith and GoldsmithMoney hold 64,387 of the club's 92,219 influence between them (69.8%), and Heart has another 15,400. Rasputin was the last manager voted in, and he left on 10 July after winning 58 of 84 games. Since then seven managers have taken the job without a vote. The current one, iangstephenson, has 10 points from seven games since 11 October. The six before him managed 8 points from 28 games between them. He was last active on 27 October, and there's no ballot open.

One of those six was BulgarianMemer, who won one, drew four and lost 13 of his 18 games at Stavanger. On Sunday night he was named manager of Hînceşti in Moldova's top flight.

Unlocked doesn't mean sacked

The 103 "Manager Unlocked" notices since 25 October aren't departures. A new boss can't make transfers or renew contracts until shareholders vote to unlock them. As tyki explained in #support:

To get unlocked, an influencer with 500+ influence in the club needs to start an unlock vote.

— tyki

The vote lasts 72 hours, which is why so many managers got full powers exactly three days after starting. Some newcomers are still waiting for someone to start theirs. Aksaray's new boss Jabir posted in #trading-influence: "Since I am a new manager with 0 influence, I cannot create the proposal myself."

Ghosts at the top

One last oddity. DeepSeek tops the game's tactician rankings on 428 points, Sals is third and vas is sixth. None of the three has a club, and none has been active since 6–7 July. The highest-ranked active manager is leanrosario, second, at Strumica.

The top three have quietly packed up and left, while faiz has been through 13 clubs in a week.
