SCRAP THE FA! 12X BAN ROW ERUPTS AS NIRVANA PANIC GRIPS DISCORD

Six days after joining the server, a member wants the game's police disbanded. A 1.62M SVC transfer has brought a contested ban notice, and a row over hidden tactics ended with "thanks for the chat"

SCRAP THE FA! 12X BAN ROW ERUPTS AS NIRVANA PANIC GRIPS DISCORD

Six days after joining the server, rosvorn wanted the FA gone.

I think FA should be disbanded. If Nirvana really comes this month - everyone will start raiding clubs, transfer funds and etc.

— rosvorn (Chernomorets Burgas)

He posted that in #soccerverse-fa on 12 October, and the channel hasn't calmed down since.

Mad Max or business as usual?

joachim_95952 pushed back straight away: "Without some kind of rules and people to enforce them this game is ruïned within a month". cloudsv_ was gloomier:

Nirvana means Season 1 Mad Max. If you remember how it was

— cloudsv_

Nickx (Napoli) tried to calm everyone down. Nirvana, he said, "just means the open sourcing of the GSP (Game State Processor) which is the brain of soccerverse". He added that core rules like "the x12 or max 7 ins and outs" won't change. If you want different rules, you can fork the game, but then you have to get people to play in your version.

rosvorn wasn't having it: "To me "Nirvana" gives me the sense of "here you go the code, bye guys"." Five days later, the FA was at the centre of a row anyway.

The 12x notice

On 17 October an agent pasted a notice into #soccerverse-fa. He said it came from the FA. It found him "guilty of breaking the Game Rule 5" for "illicitly transferring funds", with a six-month ban. Because it was a first offence, he could avoid the ban by undoing the deal and taking a Yellow Card. That meant sending Yumeki Yoshinaga back from Mjallby to I Novi Beograd for 1.62M.

The game data backs up the fee. The 20-year-old left-back, rated 61, moved from Novi Beograd to Mjallby on 13 October for 1,620,000 SVC. He's valued at 135,000 SVC today, so the fee is exactly 12 times that. Novi Beograd paid the same 1.62M for him on 4 July.

This is how the agent defended it:

Clearly, this isn't a transfer of funds.

— the agent at the centre of the case

He says he was the player's agent and controlled both clubs. Then "someone else bought more influence", so he rushed the move through before a new agent could block it. The game now lists McflyChicken as Yoshinaga's agent.

The money went the odd way round, though. Novi Beograd are 18th in Serbia's top flight with 15.66M SVC in the bank. Mjallby are 6th in Sweden with 1.43M SVC. lebron_88 spotted it: "so he transfer funds from poor Mjallby to rich Beograd?" canaya: "I also don't understand what the violation is in that transfer."

Then rosvorn asked the question nobody in charge has answered yet:

If 12x is considered "illicitly transferring funds", remove the 12x? Or lower it down to 3x again.

— rosvorn (Chernomorets Burgas)

By 19 October the agent was asking for "some kind of response" from whoever makes these decisions. cloudsv_ wanted it out of the channel: "So let's stop the drama. Open a ticket if you need something." Sending it to a ticket keeps the channel tidy, but it doesn't answer rosvorn. Until someone does, every 12x deal between linked clubs is a gamble.

Hidden tactics, open warfare

Tilburg beat Leeuwarden 2–0 on 17 October. Two hours later uostevo1234_70468 was fuming in #general-chat. He'd hidden his 4-3-3 and the match engine picked a default team instead. The Skez bot confirmed Leeuwarden had used "computer-picked tactics", then said "I overstated that" about the cause. joachim_95952 explained the rule: if you don't reveal or auto-reveal, "you get a random team on the pitch". Cipi | El Rincón del DT posted the guide.

uostevo didn't take it well:

cool, everyone will agree with you before no one likes to stand up to anyone with a big portfolio but this rule should be changed

— uostevo1234_70468

Cipi had his reply ready: "I bet that you will be back trying o change more rules." uostevo's answer: "no pointing in even talking to you, you clearly know everything i don't thanks for the chat." The bot settled it fairly: "knowing a rule and thinking it's shite can coexist, lad."

To be fair to uostevo, his idea makes sense: fall back to the formation you've been using, not a default 4-4-2. Leeuwarden have since beaten Gemert 1–0 in the cup and drawn 2–2 with Rijnsburg.

Burgled in Houston

username_hamburgler ran out of patience on 21 October: "2 months sending messages to a random alt who never replied...... Now i takover". The open votes point to Houston: a manager vote, Mock vs HamBurglerFC, which closes on Sunday 25 October. HamBurglerFC holds 500 influence there. Houston are 20th of 20 in USA Division 1, with seven points from 22 games, 19 defeats and a goal record of 7–62. Mock was last active on 12 October.

Cipi suggested the game should flag alts and main accounts automatically. Hamburgler reckons anyone who misses the message icon is ignoring it on purpose: "That icon is unmistakable."

The mystery sacking

steli27 has been on the server since December 2024. On 21 October he asked: "Does anyone know who sowiriro is?" Then: "He just removed me as manager after 3 and a half seasons. 3 promotions in a row." The only reply came from desousap: "You need a new job?" In the game, sowiriro manages Macclesfield. steli27 has no linked game account, so I can't confirm which club he lost yet. Give us a shout, lad.

My verdict: I can't remember the FA being under this much pressure. The 12x question needs an official answer before Nirvana arrives, or rosvorn won't be the last to call for scrapping it. Keep it tidy out there.
