Liverpool are top of ENG Division 1 — and still have a 130.0M SVC price tag hanging from Virgil van Dijk.

Let’s nail down the deal before anybody starts shouting: 130.0M is Liverpool’s minimum asking price, not a bid. The live listing shows no bids, no high bidder and remains marked as not started, with no end time recorded.

It has been sitting there since July 16.

The ten-times price

Van Dijk is a 35-year-old, 93-rated centre-back valued by the game at 12,974,106.83 SVC. Liverpool’s ask is 10.02 times that figure.

Across 1,009 live centre-back listings, only one carries a higher minimum price, at 160M SVC. Van Dijk’s record also shows no agent attached, while the displayed maximum permitted bid is 155.69M SVC.

His current wage is 510,420 SVC, accounting for 9.92% of Liverpool’s 5.145M SVC squad wage bill.

This is no unused veteran being cleared from the back shelf. Van Dijk has played 990 league minutes across 11 appearances this season, recording six clean sheets, one goal, one assist and a 7.18 average rating. He remains Liverpool’s highest-rated centre-back.

His fitness currently stands at 83. The injury date still carried in the record ended on April 1, so he is not presently listed as sidelined.

A leader selling a leader

Manager Biarritz has Liverpool first after 16 matches, level on 28 points with three rivals but ahead on goal difference. Putting the defence’s top-rated player up for sale in the middle of that race is a bold call — particularly when the next-best centre-back is rated 92.

There is a bigger pattern here, too. Later on July 16, Liverpool listed fellow 93-rated star Mohamed Salah Hamed for 120M SVC. He also has no bids.

Together, those two asking prices total 250M SVC — 3.12M more than the game’s 246.88M valuation of Liverpool’s entire squad.

That does not prove Liverpool are desperate to sell. It proves they will listen only at towering prices.

For now, the market has not valued Van Dijk at 130M. Liverpool have. Until somebody enters the bidding, this is a shop-window figure, not a transfer race.
