SELL 96M, GO TOP! PARIS BREAK THE BIG-SPENDER RULE

The proof came at Saint-Étienne, not in a spreadsheet. Paris won 4-0 away on Saturday, completing five consecutive matches across league and continental competition without conceding.

They now lead FRA Division 1 by two points. After 14 matches, the champions have eight wins, one defeat and a startling 24-5 goal difference.

Then you open the transfer ledger.

Paris have sold three players for 96.36M SVC in Season 4 and bought three for 22.39M. That is a 73.97M SVC surplus from a club still sitting top.

The familiar story is two successive titles. The sharper one is how Paris keep winning while selling.

The crown that changed hands

This habit began before Janca. Eltukko’s 85-match reign delivered a Season 1 runners-up finish while Paris received 201.51M SVC and spent just 15.20M in that campaign.

Janca arrived from Toulouse on October 14, 2025, after shareholders backed her over Eltukko by 6,785 votes to 5,155. She had won 38 of 75 matches at Toulouse. Paris was the leap into football’s glare.

thank you it's an honor to be the manager of such a good team

Janca

The pressure question did not last. Janca has since taken 217 points from 96 Paris matches: 56 wins, 29 draws and 11 defeats. That is 2.26 points per game. The competition record credits her with the Season 2 and Season 3 league titles.

She is no hired hand floating above the club, either. Paris have 90 shareholders, and Janca is currently their largest listed influence holder with 10,490 shares. The manager chosen by influence now has more of it than anybody else at the club.

Sell, spend, sell again

Paris’s four-season market record reveals a rhythm rather than permanent austerity:

  • Season 1 — spent 15.20M SVC, received 201.51M; surplus 186.31M
  • Season 2 — spent 92.48M, received 162.08M; surplus 69.60M
  • Season 3 — spent 178.34M, received 126.14M; net outlay 52.20M
  • Season 4 — spent 22.39M, received 96.36M; surplus 73.97M

Since Janca’s appointment, Paris have completed nine permanent arrivals and nine departures. They have received 345.58M SVC, spent 234.80M and run an overall surplus of 110.78M SVC.

That is not penny-pinching. Season 3 was the replenishment window; Season 4 has been the harvest. The present club still carries a squad valued at 502.44M SVC and a best-eleven average rating of 93.5.

Veterans out, teenagers waiting

This season’s business is the clearest expression of the plan.

Axel Witsel, now 37, left for 6.14M SVC. Marco Asensio, now 30 and rated 86, brought in 73.59M. Soufiane Bouftini, 32, departed for 16.64M.

Their replacements were not like-for-like stars. Paris paid 2.33M for 21-year-old Niv Yehoshua, 2.79M for 20-year-old Maat Caprini and 17.27M for 17-year-old Gilberto Mora, recruited from Janca’s former club Toulouse. Their current ratings are 63, 64 and 74 respectively. None has yet played a league minute for Paris.

That looks less like emergency recruitment than the purchase of time. The first team can carry the future while it develops.

Janca’s old Toulouse shopping list once sounded different:

I will buy a player above 85+ rank, and max. 25 years old.. and if he fits the team, I am willing to pay some SVC as a bonus..

Janca

Paris’s latest recruits retain the youth requirement but abandon immediate readiness. Three loan arrivals have instead supplied 480 league minutes between them, bridging the gap while the permanent prospects wait.

The luxury of patience

Janca has not protected results through tactical rigidity. Paris used four formations and three playing styles across their last ten matches, with 4-2-3-1 merely the most frequent shape.

The fixed point is the spine. The evidence suggests a strategy of selling players whose market moment has arrived, borrowing usable depth and buying the next generation before it is needed. That allows Paris to turn valuable exits into cash without asking unready recruits to defend the title.

There is risk. Prospects can stall, loan players leave and an elite core cannot resist age forever. Yet Paris still hold 46.87M SVC in cash, have conceded only five league goals and are chasing a third successive crown.

That is what makes this club special. Paris do not wait for success to end before rebuilding. They renovate while the trophies are still warm.
