In January, Verodian10 asked a question that now reads like a dare to his future self.

Seven months later, Rotterdam have become the answer. They sit fourth in NLD Division 1 after 12 matches, four points off the lead and riding five consecutive victories. Their six goals conceded are the division’s best defensive record.

This is no super-squad procession. Rotterdam’s 76-rated top-21 average trails eight rivals. They have scored only 11 times and hold 9.56M SVC in cash. Verodian10 has built a contender from small margins and locked doors.

The club he kept choosing

His Soccerverse career began with two false starts on April 12, 2025. Guadalajara was a 45-minute appointment without a match. Colorado lasted six days and produced one draw.

Then came Rotterdam on April 18.

That first spell ran for 41 matches. Verodian10 left in October, returned through a shareholder vote on December 5, departed five days later and was voted back again on December 14.

Across those three spells, he has managed 99 matches for Rotterdam: 40 wins, 31 draws and 28 defeats. His only other recorded match was that Colorado draw.

Why Rotterdam? There is no public manifesto, and inventing one would be romance sold as reporting. His behaviour says more: 99 of 100 matches here, two returns and a current holding of 2,340 club influence. It is only 0.234% of the supply, but it makes the attachment financial as well as tactical.

Public Discord offers little celebrity around him. Searches for Verodian10 and Rotterdam produce no substantive praise or criticism. His visible Spanish-channel trail instead shows a manager asking questions, receiving practical advice and thanking those who supplied it. His last such exchange came in January; his game account was active on September 5.

The evidence suggests craft, not applause, is the fuel.

Learning to close the door

Verodian10’s first full Rotterdam season ended with a tenth-place finish and 32 goals conceded in 38 league matches. That was 0.84 per game. This season’s rate is 0.50.

The improvement is structured rather than static. Across Rotterdam’s latest ten matches in all competitions, the 4-4-2 appeared six times. Passing and Counter were each used four times.

The present winning run began with a Counter-based 4-4-2. The next four victories came through a Passing 4-4-2. Across all five, Rotterdam scored eight and conceded two.

His current submitted plan starts in that Passing shape but contains match-state switches into a Defensive 4-2-3-1, a Long Ball 5-2-3 and a Counter 4-4-2. This is not merely parking the bus. It is preparing several escape routes before kickoff.

Saturday’s 2-1 win at Arnhem showed the work in motion. With the match level, Verodian10 made three substitutions in the 68th minute. Shunsuke Mito was among them. Seven minutes later, Mito scored the winner.

Buy the spine, bargain the bench

Rotterdam’s Season 4 transfer ledger shows four arrivals costing 34.49M SVC and two departures bringing back 12.78M. The net spend is 21.71M SVC.

The pattern resembles a barbell. Two arrivals cost less than 50,000 SVC apiece; the other two cost 12.84M and 21.56M. Cheap depth sits beside concentrated investment.

The clearest statement was Vhakka Gnahoré. Rotterdam paid 21.56M SVC for an 81-rated midfielder capable of playing defensive midfield, centrally or from the right. Signed on August 19, he started each of the four league victories that followed and supplied three assists across two of them.

That is the transfer philosophy visible in the evidence: pay for versatility through the spine, hunt for inexpensive depth and sell enough to keep moving.

Rotterdam have not won anything yet. Eleven goals leave little room for defensive mistakes, and the leaders remain within sight rather than beneath them.

But a standout manager is not always the loudest name or the richest account. Sometimes it is the one who asks the basic question, listens to the answer and keeps returning to the same unfinished job.
