Gameweek 7 is not a title decider. Far too early. It is the weekend when the table starts demanding proof.

After six matches, Saturday brings two second-versus-fourth collisions, a city derby between teams on identical points, Liverpool’s unbeaten record at an old rival and Italy’s bottom two against each other. These are the five to watch.

The top-four hinge

Como vs Milano Red — 18:00 UTC

One point separates fourth-placed Como on 10 from Milano Red in second on 11. The tactical detail says this could be proper cagey.

All three of Como’s league wins have finished 1-0. Tass’s side have scored three and conceded two, with the narrow 4-2-2-2 their most-used shape across seven recent tactical entries.

Taddy has taken Milano Red in another direction: a passing 4-2-3-1 in each of their last five listed matches. Yet their last two league games both ended 0-0. Possession is not the issue; penetration is. Milano must pull Como’s compact midfield apart without offering transitions through the vacant half-spaces.

A derby with table teeth

Hamburg vs St. Pauli — 18:00 UTC

The Bundesliga calls it the Hamburg derby. This edition arrives with both clubs on six points, identical records of two wins and four defeats, and only one point between them and 18th place.

Bidart’s Hamburg have scored eight but conceded 13, using four different formations across their seven listed matches. FrostyOrbit has selected a 4-2-3-1 in all seven of St. Pauli’s tactical entries. Continuity against experimentation.

There is a complication: St. Pauli’s unavailable list contains one injured and two banned players capable of operating in defence or holding midfield. Their structure has been consistent; its personnel will not be.

Old rivalry, new reality

Manchester Red vs Liverpool — 19:00 UTC

Liverpool arrive first on 14 points and unbeaten. Manchester Red are 15th on six. The twist is that the league data gives both squads an average player rating of 86.

Biarritz’s four-match winning sequence ended with a 2-2 draw, while Mastermind’s side collected four points and two clean sheets from their last two league games. The hosts have also used Long Ball in five of seven recent tactical entries, usually from a 4-2-3-1. Liverpool used that shape in three of six entries but rotated through three formations and four styles.

That makes the second ball the pressing trigger. Manchester Red will want to bypass Liverpool’s first line and turn the match into duels. If Liverpool control those recoveries, the table gap should begin to look much more persuasive.

Bottom two, nowhere to hide

Genova Blue vs Lazio — 18:00 UTC

Genova Blue are bottom with two points and no wins. Lazio sit 19th with four. Remarkably, both have the same goal record: two scored, eight conceded.

The approaches are familiar too. Quinzas has used 4-2-2-2 in four of Genova Blue’s seven recent entries; Felpa10 has selected it six times for Lazio, combining it with Long Ball on six occasions.

Expect a congested centre and a scrap for second balls. Width matters here. So does nerve: neither attack has produced enough to chase the match comfortably after conceding first.

Argentina’s late title collision

Florencio Varela vs Lanús — 22:00 UTC

Lanús are second on 13 points, one behind the lead. Florencio Varela sit fourth on 11 and would pass their visitors with a win.

RoyalCrownAffair’s Lanús have the division’s leading attack with 12 goals and have used 4-2-3-1 in five of seven recent tactical entries. ZTP’s Florencio Varela have conceded only three. Their recent 4-5-1 is no low block either: Attacking was selected in all seven entries examined.

That is the clever bit. Florencio protect the middle with numbers, then commit forward from a supposedly cautious shape. Lanús must decide whether to press those midfielders or preserve the spaces behind their own line.

By the close of the late shift, no title will be won. But early records will look less accidental. Gameweek 7 is a stress test of structure — and the numbers don’t lie.
