The Times pulled exactly 2,000 recent public messages across 11 channels. The freshest fire was in #general-chat, where the controversy detector isolated a negative, high-heat, 78-message exchange between 12:08 and 13:51 UTC on Sunday.

A claim about a bot snatching a promised loan rapidly became a row over multi-accounting, KYC, empty dugouts and whether Soccerverse has built a world bigger than its current crowd.

Hate it, use it, survive it

desousap is no drive-by agitator. Their profile records 3,313 messages across a 491-day tenure, including 122 during the past 30 days. They said most of their accounts carry the same name for transparency, proposed an account cap and pointed users towards the FA when activity looks unreasonable.

To be clear, this was not an admission of cheating. Rule V, repeatedly quoted in public Discord, allows multi-accounting provided every other game rule is followed. Admin tyki has also confirmed that managing another club simultaneously requires another account.

The drama is whether something allowed has become unavoidable.

I'm not saying KYC is the answer but it's the only viable way I know of that would make it a lot harder for people to have multiple accounts.

Fair shout, the scale gives that argument context. Current game data lists 5,350 clubs, against 3,695 manager accounts and 2,711 active managers. That does not prove alts are healthy, but it explains why some users believe they keep otherwise empty dugouts occupied.

Ajax made it personal

Soon afterwards, snaus74 dragged an old ownership wound into the open.

Ajax was sold out from the beginning. Protagonist and SoccerTitan got all the available shares from the start of the game. Because they are investors or something. It almost made me quit the game from the beginning when I found out.

The live ledger confirms extreme current concentration. Ajax shows 344,266 minted shares, none remaining in its present tranche and a paused sale. Its two largest holders are protagonist with 171,152 and SoccerTitan with 159,500.

Together that is 330,652 shares — 96.0% of everything currently minted.

That does not establish the precise historical allocation described by snaus74, nor is it evidence that either holder has broken a rule or operates multiple accounts. The Ajax grievance is about concentrated ownership, not misconduct.

This is not saints against cheats. It is an incentive problem.

When users who dislike multi-accounting say they adopt it simply to compete, a rulebook alone will not settle the argument. KYC may create friction, a cap may be difficult to police, and the club-to-manager arithmetic makes a one-person-one-club dream awkward today.

But Ajax shows the other danger: scarcity and concentration can make newcomers feel locked out before they have even picked a formation.

If Soccerverse wants fewer cloned managers, competing without them must feel possible. Until then, the login screen is winning this argument. Keep it tidy, la.
