BARCA’S 224-SECOND SHOCK! 80M MIDFIELDER IN, DE JONG UP FOR 150M — ZERO BIDS

Barcelona signed Mads Bidstrup, then listed their 97-rated Dutchman less than four minutes later — but 150M SVC remains the seller’s ask, not an offer.

BARCA’S 224-SECOND SHOCK! 80M MIDFIELDER IN, DE JONG UP FOR 150M — ZERO BIDS

224 seconds. That is all that separated Barcelona completing Mads Bidstrup’s 80.0M SVC transfer from Salzburg and listing Frenkie de Jong for 150.0M SVC.

The archive timestamps Bidstrup’s arrival at 06:39:55 UTC on Wednesday, July 22. De Jong appeared on the transfer market at 06:43:39.

At 04:56 UTC on Sunday, the bid ledger still showed zero bids from zero clubs, 94 whole hours after the listing.

That 150.0M SVC is an asking price, love — not a bid, not a fee and not a completed deal.

The 224-second midfield pivot

The timing points towards a Barcelona midfield reshuffle, although the ledger proves sequence rather than motive.

Bidstrup is 25, rated 87 and covers DMC, DMR, CM and RM. De Jong is 29, rated 97 and covers DMC, LM, CM and RM. The pair therefore overlap in three roles: DMC, CM and RM.

There is a tidy financial difference too. Bidstrup’s wage figure is 205,130 SVC; De Jong’s is 1.27M SVC — roughly 6.2 times higher.

Barcelona’s Season 4 transfer ledger already records four purchases costing 714.12M SVC and four sales bringing in 481.58M. That leaves a net spend of 232.54M SVC before any De Jong deal.

Price checked

De Jong’s game value is 50.62M SVC. Barcelona’s minimum is therefore 2.96 times that figure, a 196.3% premium.

He remains an elite asset: the only 97-rated player on the current transfer list and its highest-rated offering. He has made three Season 4 league appearances, playing 244 minutes with a 6.67 average rating and no goals or assists.

Only three individual live listings carry a higher asking price, making De Jong the market’s fourth-highest ask. Yet the expensive end is silent: all 10 current listings priced at 100M SVC or more have zero recorded bids.

The potential buyer pool is narrow as well. The latest balance snapshot shows only 14 clubs — Barcelona included — holding at least 150M SVC. Just 13 other clubs could cover the minimum from present cash alone, before sales or fresh funding.

Barcelona themselves hold 158.96M SVC, meaning the asking price equals 94.4% of their current balance.

What happens now?

The game still marks De Jong’s auction as unstarted. It shows no high bid and no end time, so there is no countdown to report yet.

The next meaningful event is simple: somebody must place 150.0M SVC on the table. Until then, this is an elite player carrying an elite price on an empty order book.

Deal not done.
