Clear Your Desks: 54 Gaffers Booted In 60 Hours As Season Four Looms

Newcastle axe a vote-winner, franONE's near-year Stoke reign is over and Cuiabá's revolving door spins for a seventh time — the dugouts have turned into musical chairs

Clear Your Desks: 54 Gaffers Booted In 60 Hours As Season Four Looms

Right, gather round, because the season's barely cold and the bodies are already piling up outside the dugouts.

Season 3's domestic leagues have wrapped, Season 4 is roughly a fortnight out, and that combination has turned Soccerverse's managerial job market into an absolute bloodbath. Pull the event log and the numbers are filthy: since the early hours of June 23, the game has rubber-stamped 75 new manager appointments, 54 departures and 34 fresh proposals — and we're not even three days in. That's a gaffer changing seats every couple of hours, round the clock.

There's a reason it's all detonating now, and tabard6 spelled it out plain as day in #general-chat this week.

no one can steal your manager position unless you are inactive for 2 weeks... there's less than two weeks from today until season 4 starts. if you changed something since last sunday you won't be inactive

Translation: drift off the grid for a fortnight and your club is fair game. With the calendar squeezing everyone, anyone who fancies a summer holiday is effectively handing in their notice. The trapdoor isn't just open — it's been propped wide with a brick.

The Toon turf out a vote-winner

Start with the marquee casualty. At Newcastle — and before the Geordies get excited, this is the Australian Division 1 outfit — the axe finally caught up with SexOnTheBeach. This is a manager who actually *won* his seat in a proper scrap back in March, beating primodojorel in a shareholder ballot by 12,611 votes to 1,586. Reward for all that? A season of 26 games, five wins, thirteen — *thirteen* — draws and a 16th-place finish. A specialist in the goalless shrug. His reign ended on June 24, and AussieScout has walked into the hot seat.

And the new man hasn't even unpacked before the big money got involved: shareholder BrettWhipp, sitting on 9,000 influence, has already filed a vote to unlock AussieScout, a ballot running through to Saturday. Day one and they're handing him the keys to the kitty. Backed from the off — which, round here, lasts right up until the first three defeats.

franONE's Stoke epic finally ends

If you read my sack-race column on Sunday, you'll remember I had franONE sweating it at relegated Stoke-on-Trent, facing the shareholders despite a win. Well, the receipts are in: that reign is over. franONE had run the Potters for the best part of a year — 78 games stretching back to July 2025, 21 wins, 24 draws, 33 losses — through a relegation that's dumped them into England's third tier and bled the fanbase from 20,570 down to 18,944.

The shareholders pulled the trigger on June 22, the very day after my column dropped, and installed Surf in the dugout. New gaffer, fresh start, third division, and a squad still valued north of 22 million SVC. Over to you, son.

Cuiabá: the seat nobody can sit still in

Then there's Cuiabá, the club I flagged a few days back as the place that "keeps voting." Lads, I undersold it. Dig into the records and trojan7 has now had *seven* separate spells in that dugout — bounced out, voted back, bounced again, like a man who left his phone charger behind every single time. Most of those comebacks were rubber-stamped by shareholder ballot. It is, comfortably, the most chaotic seat in the game, and trojan7 is somehow both its most-sacked and most-rehired man. Loyalty? Obsession? A bit of both.

Down in Colombia, the Boyacá hot seat I clocked a fortnight ago also turned over — patriotas is the new boss after juandicb333 stepped aside, and that one stings, because juandicb333 was actually *winning*, five from six before he went.

A word of caution on the carnage

Now, before anyone screams that the world's ending: a good chunk of those 54 "departures" aren't sackings at all. It's the alt-army doing its pre-season housekeeping. Scroll the log and you'll spot whole stables of Pokémon-named accounts — flareon, jolteon, vaporeon, espeon, glaceon — plus the Snausscout battalion shuffling clubs between themselves like a card sharp. Empire admin, not heartbreak. Knowing which is which is half the job.

Meanwhile, at the top, nothing moves

And here's the lovely irony. While the lower leagues churn like a washing machine, the penthouse is serene. DeepSeek remains untouchable, top of *both* the tactician (378 points) and veteran (318) ladders out of 12,006 ranked managers. vas is the curiosity — second among the tacticians on 374, yet only 35th on the veteran list, the classic flat-track specialist. Dani Rojas and Sals are knotted on 363. The elite never seem to need the trapdoor. Funny that.

So that's your Manager Watch: appointments flying, desks emptying, and a Season 4 deadline doing the dirty work nobody else wanted to. The #jobs board is heaving too — GreenFuryx is still touting a German gig down in the ninth tier.

AVAILABLE JOB IN GERMANY! I'm looking for a manager to take German club Lehner in Oberliga 2 (div. 9)... It's ofc a paid job

Plenty of vacancies, then. As username_hamburgler put it raising a glass to the old campaign:

Congrats to the winners, the losers, the ones who got promoted and the ones who fought all season... 🥂 to season 3 and 🚀 to season 4!!

Just maybe answer your messages this fortnight, eh? Or someone else will be sat in your chair by Sunday.
