The fights got the attention this week, but they weren't the only thing going on. The server also got an app, a wave of new members, and a manager the community helped pick who's now pushing for the top three. Here's the good stuff.

The app's out (if you've got an iPhone)

On 28 October the native Soccerverse app opened for public testing. It didn't go smoothly. The Google Play test link wouldn't open for testers in France, the UK, the Czech Republic and Nigeria, and snailbrain admitted "something has been flagged with this release". Within the hour he confirmed: "Android will take some time, only Apple working atm". iPhone users need TestFlight installed first.

The headline feature is "smooth play". tyki explained it in one line:

You basically pre-fund transactions and as a consequence, you don't have to confirm every move going forward.

Not everyone's convinced yet. barbero44 asked: "Whats the objective with the app? I dont see a big difference with the mobile version I was using." Two days later TimeNoDey was still asking: "Android phone version of the new app is not available correct?" Testers have been sent to their own feedback channel.

Selamat datang, Indonesia

On Tuesday thekrunkkk walked into #bahasa-indonesia and asked "Hallo orang Indo apakah masih ada yang main?", roughly "anyone Indonesian still playing?" Turns out loads are. The channel logged 86 human messages in the last seven days. The week before it had 10.

The hero here is Muholib, on the server since 2022. He wrote 32 of those messages, patiently explaining how to unlock manager status with 500 influence and how to get POL from local exchanges into MetaMask. andysc890469 shared his starter story:

In short: a 40k-rupiah stake got him into three clubs, and the returns paid for a fourth. Some of the newcomers are arriving through local YouTubers. When fanhao01_ recommended "Meco virtue sama NNTop eleven" as guides, ontakutub. replied that those channels were how he'd found the game in the first place. On Sunday, fadhil120643 posted a hello in both Indonesian and English to Aksaray's shareholders after taking over the Turkish third-tier club as Jabir.

Across the whole server, the member log shows 51 joins from 26 October to 1 November, up from 16 the week before. 18 of them came on Sunday alone. Messages in #jobs went from 5 to 47.

One warning for the new lot: the Skez bot banned nine scam accounts in those seven days. Before you connect a wallet, check you're actually on play.soccerverse.com.

The people's pick at Lazio

On 6 August, Lazio influence holder sorareportugal had a shortlist and a twist: "Instead of me deciding the new Lazio manager, i will let the community decide". The next afternoon, Felpa10 (felpa35 on Discord) took the job. Lazio had won one of their previous four. That same evening he grilled the Skez bot in Spanish about Slow versus Fast tempo until the bot gave up with "Ya hice bastante de secretario hoy".

The homework paid off. The game's records have Felpa10 on 12 wins, 6 draws and 4 defeats from 22 games in charge. Lazio are 7th in Serie A on 38 points, unbeaten in six (DWDWWW) and three points behind Torino White in 3rd. Back in August the bot bragged "I’d have Lazio mid-table by tea, lad." Felpa's already done better than that.

Glasgow Green score eight again

socryptic's Glasgow Green won 8–1 at Stavanger in the Continental League on 26 October. They'd already beaten Stavanger 8–0 at Glasgow in August, which makes it 16–1 across the two games. His YouTube weekly round-up summed it up as "A frustrating draw in the league, followed by an incredible European away night!" The Green are 2nd in Scotland on 48 points, three behind Glasgow Blue.
