Right, pull up a chair — it's been a busy few days around the grounds, and your money-and-markets reporter has been through the club wires so you don't have to. Injuries, contracts, big-money signings and a few balance sheets that'll make your eyes water. Here's everything that actually matters from the last week.

The money: who's flush and who's skint

Let's start where I always start — the bank statements. Dortmund are sitting on a frankly silly 322.64M SVC, the fattest war chest in the game right now, with Wolverhampton (255.39M) and São Paulo Green (234.86M) not far behind. Braintree (198.53M) and Lens (178.61M) round out the rich list.

At the other end? Grim reading. Cornellà de Llobregat are deepest in the hole at -6.50M SVC, with Milano Blue (-6.06M) and Rivadavia (-3.98M) keeping them company in the red.

But the one that'll get tongues wagging is Manchester Blue. Fourth in England's top flight, a squad valued at a staggering 274.1M SVC, the prettiest passing numbers in the division (91 average passing) — and a balance of minus 2.75M SVC. The culprit's no mystery: a wage bill of 5.71M SVC, averaging 203.8K a head. That's a glamour squad being run at a loss, and unless something gives, the accountants will be having words with manager Phesiola before the silverware does.

Coventry go big — and then make it permanent

The transfer of the week by a country mile. Coventry smashed the cheque book open for Mika Godts, completing a 59.36M SVC move from Annecy — and then, days later, tied him down on a six-season contract. That's some statement from a club currently 15th in England's Division 1 on a wobbly DWWWLL run. Manager Raiden1 is clearly betting that quality buys his way up the table.

Elsewhere the big fees flew:

- Tottenham landed an arrival from Almería for 37.10M SVC - Swansea were busy under brand-new boss BlackSwan, bringing in Sławomir Abramowicz from Białystok for 28.63M and another face from Buraidah Yellow for 8.39M - West Bromwich paid 16.57M for James McConnell from Elfsborg - Macclesfield went 13.81M on Matthias Wamu Oyatambwe from Granada - Wolverhampton, flush as they are, added Matteo Motta from Auxerre for 7.50M

Injury room: Münster sweat over a long lay-off

The one that hurts: Münster's Mateusz Pruchniewski has picked up a major injury and faces 116 days out — the standout absence across the leagues this week. A long, lonely chunk of the season gone.

In England the treatment table's busier than usual with minor knocks: Lincoln's Seán Roughan (42 days), York's Darragh O'Connor (46 days), Taunton's Thomas Wilson-Brown (43 days) and Needham Market's Fin Coyle, who's looking at a hefty 59 days on the sidelines.

Contracts: clubs locking the doors

Plenty of housekeeping done. Beyond Coventry's six-year tie-up of Godts, Morecambe committed to Benjamin Fredrick for six more seasons — proper long-term faith. And new Taunton boss Leedsarewe wasted no time stamping his authority, getting a whole batch through the door — Danilo Wiebe, Thomas Wilson-Brown, Danny Latza and seven more all penning fresh two-year deals in a single day.

In the dugouts and the cups

The managerial merry-go-round kept spinning: Swansea appointed BlackSwan, while Truro, Coalville, Morpeth, Bristol Red and Northampton all welcomed new bosses. Spain saw fresh faces at Palencia CA, El Llano del Beal and U San Fernando too.

And in the cups, the big guns marched on: Crystal Palace, Leipzig and Barcelona all booked their place in the next round.
