Four days is not a bedding-in period. It is barely enough time to learn the route to training.

Lecco completed a 106,843,500 SVC move for Joaquin Seys on July 14. On July 18, the 21-year-old played every minute at Bologna, made two key tackles, supplied three key passes and created a goal. His match rating was 8. Lecco won 2-0.

At the other full-back position, Nidal Čelik matched that 8 with two key tackles and two key passes of his own. Meanwhile, Keisuke Goto needed one shot and 59 minutes to score on his Monza debut as H Verona were beaten 2-1.

Season 4 is one round old. That is far too early for prophecy, but exactly the right time for a watchlist.

Lecco's two-sided future

Lecco know about moving quickly. They finished second in ITA Division 3 in Season 1, second in Division 2 in Season 2 and tenth in the top flight last season. Their Soccerverse ladder has contained every rung, but no pause.

Čelik arrived from Hammarby for 16,572,000 SVC on March 17. He managed only four Season 3 league appearances for Lecco, totalling 284 minutes at an average rating of 7.25.

His recorded overall then moved from 76 at the Season 3 update to 84 at the Season 4 update: an eight-point leap reflecting the progress made across last season. The 20-year-old right-back carried that upgrade into Bologna with 90 composed, two-way minutes and an opening-night 8.

Seys offers a different sort of breakthrough. He was already an 84-rated player and remained there at the new update, although his shooting edged from 74 to 75. With Brugge Blue last season, he started 19 league matches, scored once, assisted twice and averaged 7.05.

Lecco did not buy a development project and hide him on the bench. Four days after his transfer, the versatile left-back, right-back and left midfielder was trusted for the full match — and answered with the assist.

One young full-back arrived for Season 4 newly upgraded. The other arrived already proven and immediately burdened with responsibility. Bologna found no way through either of them.

Goto's long road to one shot

Goto's journey begins far from Monza. The Japanese centre-forward scored 20 goals and supplied five assists across 34 Season 1 league appearances for Hirakata in Japan's third tier.

Rijeka paid 6,663,000 SVC for him in September 2025. Season 3 brought 21 league appearances in Croatia, but 13 came from the bench. He played 959 minutes, scored four goals, assisted once and averaged 6.81.

That could resemble a talent idling. The ratings record says otherwise: Goto climbed from 73 at the Season 3 update to 80 for Season 4, a seven-point rise.

Monza paid Rijeka 51,529,500 SVC on July 10. Eight days later, the 21-year-old started against H Verona, added two key passes and converted his only recorded shot before departing after 59 minutes with a rating of 7.

Monza finished 16th and 15th in the last two seasons. One opening victory cannot erase those struggles, but a young striker scoring on his first Italian top-flight appearance is precisely the sort of new habit they need.

The silence before the noise

Searches of Soccerverse's public Discord corpus found no player-specific discussion of Čelik, Seys or Goto. We will not dress that silence up as acclaim.

The community understands the broader scouting instinct, though. One contributor described the edge in wonderfully simple terms:

These three belong to that quieter category. Čelik must show that his upgraded rating can produce repeat performances. Seys must make his immediate impact the baseline, not the exception. Goto must turn one ruthless finish into regular minutes.

They do not need coronations after one Saturday. Breakthrough is the moment age stops being the first fact anybody mentions and the match report takes its place. In Italy's opening round, that happened three times.
